Privacy Policy

Last updated ·

This policy explains what Soul Crow collects, on this website and in the app, and what it does with it. The short version: the website keeps your email only if you join the waitlist, the app keeps everything on your device, and nothing is sold to anyone.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Adrian Christiansen, Tallinn, Estonia, the developer and publisher of Soul Crow.

Questions about this policy and requests about your data go to contact@soulcrow.com.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, the website stores the following and nothing more:

  • your email address
  • the language of the page you used (English or French)
  • the realm shown when you signed up (Crow or Dove; Crow if you had not chosen)
  • the date and time of the signup

The purpose is a single one: to tell you when the app opens, and on which stores. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR, article 6(1)(a)), given when you press “Join the Waitlist” after the consent line.

Your entry is kept until the launch has been announced, plus twelve months, or until you ask for it to be removed, whichever comes first. To withdraw, write to contact@soulcrow.com from the address you used; the entry is deleted within seven days.

The form carries a hidden field that only automated scripts fill. Submissions that fill it are rejected and not stored.

To limit sign-ups to five a minute, attempts are counted in memory by Cloudflare, under a salted one-way hash of your IP address, for one minute at most; neither your IP address nor its hash is stored. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure (GDPR, article 6(1)(f)).

Analytics on this website

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores no personal data and keeps only aggregated counts: pages viewed, countries, browsers, load times.

It does not identify you, follow you across other sites or build a profile. That is why this site shows no cookie banner.

Cookies and local storage

The website sets one functional cookie, sc_lang, which remembers whether you read it in English or in French. It lasts one year and carries no other information.

Your choice of realm (Crow or Dove) is kept in your browser’s local storage (key sc_realm), on your device. It is sent to us only if you join the waitlist, as described above.

There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts other than the analytics described above.

Hosting and processors

The website and the waitlist are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (San Francisco, United States), on its network, which includes points of presence in the European Union. Waitlist entries are stored in Cloudflare Workers KV and replicated across that network.

As the host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the pages and to protect the site against abuse.

Cloudflare acts as a processor under a Data Processing Addendum that includes the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside the European Economic Area.

Apart from Cloudflare and the mailbox provider named below, no company receives your data. Nothing is sold, rented or shared for advertising.

When you write to us

Messages sent to contact@soulcrow.com are relayed by Cloudflare Email Routing to the publisher’s mailbox, hosted by one.com (Denmark). We keep them as long as needed to answer, and withdrawal requests for twelve months as proof that the entry was deleted.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you (GDPR, article 6(1)(f)).

The app

In its current version, the Soul Crow app keeps everything on your device: your guide, your completed missions, your frequency, your journal entries, your practice days and your settings. There is no account, no server and no analytics inside the app.

Once the app is on the App Store, Apple may share anonymous usage and crash data with the developer, but only if you allow it in your device settings.

Deleting the app deletes this data. Your device backup, if you use one, may contain a copy under the rules of your device’s maker.

If a later version adds accounts, synchronisation or payments, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and your consent asked where the law requires it.

Adults only

Soul Crow is made for adults. You must be at least eighteen to join the waitlist or use the app, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a minor has joined the waitlist, write to contact@soulcrow.com and the entry will be removed.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you may, at any time:

  • ask what data we hold about you (access)
  • have it corrected (rectification)
  • have it deleted (erasure)
  • have its processing restricted
  • receive it in a portable format
  • object to its processing
  • withdraw your consent, without affecting what was done before

To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@soulcrow.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, aki.ee) or with the supervisory authority of the country where you live.

No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are announced on this page before they take effect.
